We are a small and friendly organisation committed to providing a comprehensive, professional and practical range of safety training and support services across the United Kingdom. We have delivered safety training throughout the United Kingdom for over 21 years. 


Our services include In House and Public training courses delivered by highly qualified instructors and assessors who each have over 30 years’ experience working in the Safety Sector.  



Alan Phillips - (Pip) heads up our Plant and Machinery training division, delivering both training and cost effective consultation with businesses to determine their most efficient training solutions with targeted operational benefits. Pip had a challenging and highly successful 26 year career in the Royal Marines delivering strategic solutions all over the world. As senior management within the Royal Marines, Pip ensured, through focused planning and targeted training, that servicemen and women were equipped with both the knowledge and skills to deliver their service roles in often trying and complicated scenarios achieving operational goals. Pip has brought this wealth of knowledge and experience to industry working closely with clients to achieve substantial benefits and operational efficiencies through a sound rapport and understanding of customer focus, operational insight and training delivery. Pip’s many qualifications include Driving Instructor (Off Road/Police Advanced/Evasive/QUADS), Fire Safety and First Aid, as well as being a coach and practitioner for functional supervision and management. 



Paul Wharton - Paul directs our consultancy, professional qualifications and examination centre portfolio covering risk management, health and safety, food hygiene and facilities management services. Paul has a long established background in engineering, risk and investigative management, training, coaching, human resources and behavioural analysis disciplines, working across a broad commercial spectrum including engineering, loss management, civil and military defence, plant, pre-press, retail and food processing industries. Paul has held senior appointments within business including membership of trade bodies, all of which have involved working at all levels of business, with official bodies and external providers. Paul's blend of risk management, behavioural analysis and business skills bring together tool box delivering a pragmatic no frills approach to practical management challenges. Paul is retained by a number of risk and loss management businesses and is an accredited instructor and coach for a number of professional bodies including NEBOSH, IOSH, CIEH and British Institute of Facilities Management as well as managing our examination centre status.



Ken Iley - Ken directs our Plant and Machinery division consulting and training for our construction, facilities and utilities clients and insurers. Ken began his career within the Merchant Navy as an Engineering Officer. Following completion of his service Ken worked extensively within the Middle and Far East managing numerous construction projects with the building of hospitals being a particular specialism. Ken has a comprehensive level of experience and first-hand knowledge of construction, from green-field design and construction to implementation of full renovation and change of use projects, including all aspects of site plant and machinery. Ken continues to specialise in the management of construction related projects and the training of plant and equipment operation, in particular the NVQs for plant safety and operation. A qualified Plant and Site Safety Advisor since the mid-80s, Ken has developed a wealth of experience, not only in the successful health and safety management and assessment of plant and equipment safety, but with best practice within the construction industry as a whole. As an NVQ Assessor, this has allowed Ken to ensure many construction operators, including the self-employed, plant for hire, to develop and practice with professionalism within the modern site operations criteria.


Ken is currently involved in a number of more strategic and change management projects involving both national and international service delivery, which has involved working throughout Europe in particular Holland, Belgium and France.



Amanda Duckett - Amanda joined us from a compliance and centre management background, bringing with her a wealth of experience in dealing with the awarding bodies, OFQUAL and compliance verification centres. Amanda’s knowledge, skill and attention to detail has ensured our many years of successful centre and examination centre status with our Awarding Body partners. Amanda manages the interface with clients, customers and awarding bodies ensuring a seamless match between the needs of our client and customers’ and the expectations of assessment and verification. Amanda is the corner stone of our business facilitating service delivery and continued growth in supporting our wide and diverse client base.
